Ingredients:
1. Rice 1/2 cup
2. Toor Daal 1/2 cup
3. 1/2 cup Carrots chopped
4. 1/4 cup french Beans chopped
5. 1 onion chopped
6. 1/4 cup capsicum chopped
7. 1 potato chopped
8. 2 tomatoes chopped
9. Green chilies 2 chopped
10. Tamarind a small ball
11. MTR bisi bele bhat powder 1 Tbsp
12. Salt to taste
13. Oil
14. Mustard seeds
15. whole Red chilli
16. Kari Patta 1 Tsp
17. Hing /asafoetida a pinch
18. Coriander 1 Tbsp
19. peanuts sauted 1/4 cup
Steps to follow
1. soak the tamarind in 1/2 cup of warm water.
2. In pressure cooker add rice, daal,little salt, turmeric powder with 2 cups of water.
3. cook for 10 min or till they are done.
4. In another cooker add all the veggies and cook till done.
5. Mash all the veggies and add into rice mixture.
6. Now add tamarind juice, Bisi bele powder , remaining salt and some water to adjust thickness.
7. Mix thoroughly and simmer on low heat for another 10 minutes.
8. heat oil in a pan.
9. add hing, mustard seeds, kari patta and red chilli one after another in the same order.
10. Pour tempering over the bisi bele bhat and cover for few minutes.
11. garnish with coriander and peanuts.
12. tastes best with khara boondi.
