- Curd 1 cup
- Besan ( Gram flour) 1/2 cup
- Suji (Simolina) 1/2 cup
- Green chilli 2 no
- Garlic flakes 4 no.
- Cumin seeds 1tsp
- Oil 2 tsp
- Sugar 1tsp
- Coriander leaves 1 tbsp
- Baking soda 1/2 tsp
- Eno 1/2 tsp
- Salt according to taste
- Red chilli according to taste
- Mustard seeds 1 tsp
- Mix Suji, Besan and curd.
- Keep aside for 1 hour.
- Grind garlic, 1 green chilli and cumin seeds with minimum water.
- Mix thoroughly all the ingredients with 1 tsp of oil except mustard seed and remaining green chilli.
- Steam for 20 minutes.
- Cut into equal pieces.
- Now heat rest of oil in a pan.
- When hot add mustard see and remaining chilli.
- Now add steamed pieces.
- Fry for 5 min stirring occasionally.
- Serve with imli and green chutney.
There are different method for steaming. You can use idli cooker or steam cooker. If you dont have any of them,
- Take a covered deep and big pan.
- Add water to it and put on high flame untill water starts boiling.
- Take another pan that can fit into first pan.
- Pour mixture into second pan.
- Put second pan into first and cover with lid.
- Steam on medium flame for 20 minutes.
